DAMMA / HUMAN INSTRUMENT 004
BEFORE YOU REACT.
Not every reaction deserves to become an action.
Something happens.
The body moves faster
than thought.
A reply is written.
A sentence is ready.
A decision wants to become immediate.
This instrument creates
a small space between
what happened
and what happens next.
ENTRY / CONTEXT
What kind of moment is this?
Do not solve it yet. Just name where the reaction began.
01 / TRIGGER
What happened?
Stay as close as possible to the event itself.
The trigger happened. Your next action has not.
02 / FIRST IMPULSE
What do you want to do right now?
Do not make it reasonable. Do not make it polite. Record the first impulse before improving it.
An impulse is information. It is not an instruction.
03 / PAUSE
00:45
For forty-five seconds, do nothing.
Do not send it.
Do not answer it.
Do not explain it.
Nothing has to be solved
during this pause.
Let the first wave
finish being the first wave.
04 / CONSEQUENCE
If you act on the first impulse, what happens next?
Imagine the next ten minutes. Then tomorrow.
The first action often creates the second problem.
05 / ANOTHER RESPONSE
What became possible because you waited?
The first impulse may still be right. But it is no longer the only thing available.
A pause does not remove the choice. It returns it.
06 / BOUNDARY
What still needs to be protected?
Pausing does not mean becoming passive.
Calm is not consent. Delay is not surrender.
07 / CHOICE
What will you do now?
The reaction is no longer automatic. Choose what remains after the pause.
Not reacting immediately does not mean never responding.
DAMMA / PERSONAL RESPONSE RECORD
What remained after the impulse.
Not every reaction
deserves to become an action.
The pause did not decide for you.
It gave the decision back.

Your responses are not sent to DAMMA. They are not analysed by AI. They are not judged or scored. They remain only in this browser unless you copy or download them yourself.
HUMAN INSTRUMENT 004
A pause is not surrender. It is where choice returns.
